Pikes Wines was created in 1984 by brothers Neil and Andrew Pike in the Polish Hill River sub-region of the beautiful and cool-climate Clare Valley in South Australia; the first Pikes wines were released in the spring of 1985. The Clare Valley, so suited to aromatic white and red varietals, allows the Pike brothers to create an exceptional range of wines. Riesling is the undoubted star here, the flagship ‘Merle’ bottling being one of the very finest expressions of this stunning varietal available from the New World.

Also within the Pikes portfolio are the Pike & Joyce range of wines from Adelaide Hills and Gaelic Cemetery of Clare. Pike & Joyce is a partnership between the Pike family and the Joyce family, related to Andrew Pike’s wife, Cathy.  Here Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay and Semillon are grown, to critical acclaim. Gaelic Cemetery, as with the Pike’s own estate, is to be found in Clare Hills. Riesling, Shiraz, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon are grown here in a single vineyard co-owned by the Pikes and Barletta families.
