One of Australia’s greatest expressions of Shiraz, Heysen heralds from a single vineyard planted back in 1972. Full-bodied with plenty of ripe, seductive berry and spice flavours on the palate. An elegant Shiraz that benefits greatly from the small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon to add complexity and richness.
The nose offers aromas of pain grille, pencil lead, truffle, espresso, black cherry, and blueberry. Ripe, juicy berry and spice flavours with well-rounded tannins and a very good, lengthy finish. A luscious, full-bodied wine that is flavourful and impeccably balanced whilst maintaining a real sense of elegance. This wine is a classic Barossa Shiraz which will provide pleasure for many years to come.
A multi award winning cuvée, Heysen has previously been rated by famous American wine critic, Robert Parker, with a knock-out score of 99/100.
CELLARING: Excellent potential for ageing, drink this superb Shiraz to 2035+

“Deep, vivid colour; a complex and enticing bouquet has liquorice, spice, black fruits and oak all competing for space, a battle of epic proportions on the palate. A full-bodied shiraz of the highest quality, thanks to not only its power, but also its balance and harmony, oak and tannins precisely weighted.”
