Darling Cellars Old Bush Vine Cinsault comes from specific unirrigated old bush vines which are selected for their uniqueness and prominent terroir flavours. An irresistible, well balanced wine, with sour red cherries, strawberries and a hint of candyfloss on the nose. A delicious fruity palate with earthy flavours and notes of white pepper followed by fresh acidity and a long finish.
Food pairing: A great partner with with roasted leg of lamb, Moroccan lamb, Mediterranean casseroles and a traditional South African “Potjiekos” (especially with venison). We love it!
Ageing potential: 8 – 15 years under ideal cellar conditions
Alcohol: 13.57% ABV

string(526) "Cinsault (or Cinsaut) is a red variety which is prolific in Southern France and South Africa. Primarily utilised around the world to add aromatic complexity when blended with other varieties, it yields well and resists drought. In the hands of growers such as Kaapzicht in Stellenbosch, old vine Cinsault harvested with low yields and then sensitively managed in the cellar push the expectations of this often maligned variety – the potential for greatness is becoming recognised more and more as each new wine is enjoyed."
