The Meerlust Red 2014 is a blend of 57% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Cabernet Franc and 11% Petit Verdot. The nose is expressive with powerful cassis, plum, exotic spice and hints of floral aromas, whilst on the palate intense flavours of crushed black fruit, cassis, vanilla and dark chocolate show through. A gorgeous medium bodied red with soft and silky tanins, fresh acidity and a focused and linear flavour profile. The wine has a persistent and long-lasting aftertaste and pairs well with venison, game, pot roast and noble cheeses.
Ageing potential: 10-12 years from vintage date under ideal cellar conditions
