The grapes for Noon’s Reserve Shiraz have been sourced from the same vineyard (the 1.6 hectare ‘20 Rows’ block in Langhorne Creek owned by the Borrett family) since the first release Reserve Shiraz in 1997. One of the single greatest expressions of Shiraz made in the world, the Noon Reserve Shiraz is a full-bodied, generously-flavoured wine which demands time in bottle to really show its true colours. The demand for these outstanding and rare bottles always exceeds supply. Frontier Fine Wines are extremely honoured to receive a direct allocation direct from Drew and Raegan Noon.
The 2016 vintage is intriguingly subtle to smell at first, with complex, savoury aromas (soy sauce, nutmeg and green tea) emerging with time in the glass. The palate is medium to full bodied and has a rounded mouth feel with lovely balance and a persistent firm tannin to finish. It comes across as a strong silent type which will have a lot to say if you take the time to get to know it. This is a wine which can be enjoyed now (decanting is recommended) and should evolve nicely in the cellar over the next 10 years and more.
