Another delicious red from Rustenberg, this is 100% Grenache from Stellenbosch. In its youth you will find very attractive red fruit flavours, such as strawberry and cherry, along with a wonderful pepper spice – as it ages a more savoury fruit profile will be revealed. Grenache Noir was first planted on Rustenberg in 2001. The variety is best known for producing very expressive, lighter styled, quality wines once vines have had a number of years to establish themselves.
Aging Potential Up to 6 years from vintage under ideal cellaring conditions
Food pairing: Being typically light in colour, low in tannin and medium-bodied, Grenache is the ideal red wine to drink on its own or to pair with tapas style foods and cured meats.
Alcohol: 14% ABV

string(523) "One of the most widely-planted red varieties in the world, Grenache ripens late so needs hot, dry conditions for success. The Rhône Valley, Spain, Barossa and McLaren Vale all utilise Grenache’s raspberry and strawberry characteristics either as stand-alone varietals or part of a blend. Some of the greatest expressions of pure Grenache can be found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where wines including Château Rayas and Domaine La Barroche’s Pure cuvée embrace the Pinot Noir-like properties of Grenache to great effect."
