Greystone Vineyard Ferment Pinot Noir is complex and earthy. The 2018 vintage shows minerality, spice and subtle wild berries on the nose. Textural with fine integrated fruit tannins. A wine with flow, harmony and length.
In 2012 Greystone first explored fermenting their Pinot Noir grapes in the vineyard where they grow. They captured the wild yeasts in situ and by happenstance found it extended the vintage influence, allowing the vagaries of the season’s weather to provide a defining mark upon the wine.
Very Limited Stock!
Cameron Douglas MS – 94 points ‘Calm yet complex bouquet with aromas of softly spoken light red berry fruit aromas, integrated yet noticeable voice of barrel and some baking spice moments, some roses and wild flowers and a core of mineral and earth messages. On the palate – complex with a specific texture of fine tannins and red fruit flavours, medium+ acidity and red apple skin, floral, but not loud, earthy, but not driving the wine. Balanced and well made, intriguing and captivating. A lovely wine to explore the range of Pinot Noir’s voice. Best drinking from today and through 2024.’

string(578) "If Cabernet Sauvignon is the king of wines then Pinot Noir is the wine of kings. So delicate, pure, feminine and graceful, it is arguably the finest variety in the world, responsible for the great wines of Champagne and Burgundy. Temperamental, yes, and difficult to cultivate, but can any other grape offer such dimensions of flavour or intellectual gratification? I would struggle to find one stronger! Summer berry compote flavours, with redcurrant and pink petal aromas, it is often pale in the glass, yet can offer depth and vigour simply unachievable from any other grape."
