The Meerlust Chardonnay 2022 has a complex and appealing nose of apricot, peach, pear, lemon zest and floral notes with hints of toasted almonds. On the palate the wine is well structured and linear but retains generous focused stone fruit flavours with sleek, balanced, and crisp acidity. The wine remains vivacious and fresh on the finish with clean citrus fruit under pinned by minerality. The wine has a long, very pleasant lingering finish.
Ageing potential: Up to six years, provided wine is stored in ideal cellar conditions
Food pairing: Grilled fish, white and red meat. Served at 12° – 14°C
Alcohol: 12.94% ABV

string(513) "Possibly the most famous grape variety in the world, Chardonnay has found a home in pretty much every corner of the wine world. From crisp, flinty Chablis styles to full-bodied, oaky, rich Napa Valley Chardonnay it is a variety which has the ability to morph according to the climate or winemaking philosophy. It also has the capacity to produce amongst the greatest white wines in the world. Some praise indeed for this chameleon variety, the likes of which may only truly be matched by Riesling or Chenin Blanc."
