Méthode Cap Classique “Cuvée Clive” 2017, Graham Beck

Elegance, finesse and complexity are hallmarks of a truly distinguished prestige cuvée – Graham Beck’s Cuvée Clive is all this and much more.  The prestige MCC “Cuvée Clive” 2017 is a blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir and only made in exceptional years and in extremely limited quantities.  40% of the blend originates from an exceptional block of Chardonnay in Napier, close to the Cape South Coast in South Africa with the remaining 20% of Chardonnay from a single block on their Robertson estate. The Pinot Noir comes from Durbanville, growing in Table Mountain sandstone.  All the fruit was hand-picked in the early hours of the morning and gently whole-bunch pressed with only the first 400 litres per tonne (tete de cuvee) used. Chardonnay was fermented in barrel and Pinot Noir in stainless steel. After assemblage and botting for secondary fermentation, it aged for 50 months on lees.
