Bird in Hand Nest Egg Shiraz is a limited release Shiraz, only made in outstanding vintages and with each bottle individually numbered. Rated one of Australia’s top wines by critic James Haliday, the Nest Egg range of wines represents the very best of Bird in Hand, with elite barrels selected based on intensity of flavour, concentration and finesse. Made in limited quantities, the 2016 Nest Egg Shiraz spent 22 months ageing in barrels that are 65% new oak. The 2016 vintage is powerful yet distinctly cool climate, with notes of brambly black fruit intertwined with kitchen spices of vanilla, clove, anise and pepper. A concentrated and powerful example of Adelaide Hills Shiraz that is superbly focussed with long, classy tannins.
Food pairing: A perfect partner for red meat, enjoy with steak or slow-cooked ribs.
