About this wine

The Escarpment Noir label brings together 35 years of wine making experience in New Zealand, creating a soft, bright, fruit forward wine which can be enjoyed immediately or will cellar successfully for a number of years.  100% Martinborough hand harvested fruit and barrel aged for 11 months, the structure and texture of this wine sit perfectly with ripe fruit flavours and gentle tannins that  combine with intriguing complexity. Bottled without filtration.

Food pairing: Enjoy with any red meat dishes but equally explore with salmon, chicken or pasta dishes.

Ageing potential: Cellar confidently for 5+ years.

Alcohol: 13% ABV

string(578) "If Cabernet Sauvignon is the king of wines then Pinot Noir is the wine of kings. So delicate, pure, feminine and graceful, it is arguably the finest variety in the world, responsible for the great wines of Champagne and Burgundy. Temperamental, yes, and difficult to cultivate, but can any other grape offer such dimensions of flavour or intellectual gratification? I would struggle to find one stronger! Summer berry compote flavours, with redcurrant and pink petal aromas, it is often pale in the glass, yet can offer depth and vigour simply unachievable from any other grape."
