Waterford Estate Kevin Arnold Shiraz 2012 shows vibrant dark fruit, earthy and clove pepper spice lead the aromatics which are accompanied by soft liquorice undertones.
Natural acidity and the classic granular tannins are characteristic of the voluptuous nature of a Stellenbosch Shiraz.
A blend of 88% Shiraz, 8% Grenache, 4% Mourvèdre aged 20 months in 225L and 500L French oak barrels.
The 2012 vintage is named after Ashleigh Anne, Jeremy and Leigh Ord’s oldest daughter
Food pairing: Pairs well with lean red meats, such as venison, as well as a variety of earthy components.

It is a variety which alters in the bottle very much as a result of the individual winemaker’s philosophy, as well as reflecting the unique terroir of the estates. Great with oak, it offers lavender, kirsch, black cherry and cured meat aromas and flavours. In its native Northern Rhône it is famous for the wines of Hermitage and Côte-Rôtie, whilst in the New World can lay claim to providing Australia with its two most famous wines; Henschke’s Hill of Grace and Penfold’s Grange."
