Philip Shaw The Dreamer is light straw yellow in colour with hues of green. Lighter in style than many Viogniers with notes of fresh apricots and violets on the nose and lifts of lemon. The palate is bright and fresh with vivid acid and juicy fruit. The balance of fruit and acid give the wine wonderful depth and vibrancy.
Harvested early for high acidity and lower alcohol at only 10% ABV
“The Dreamer challenges convention and inspires innovation. Our Viognier keeps us dreaming, it is a constant reminder to question and create.”
Food pairing: Enjoy with fresh, crisp salad dishes, grilled chicken and white fish.
Alcohol: 10% ABV
Decanter Magazine (June 2022 Edition) – Tina Gellie “Viognier can be oily and heavy, but this one, from Shaw’s Koomooloo vineyard on volcanic soils at 900m – one of the highest in Australia – is a revelation. Gorgeous notes of apricot juice, lychee, aniseed and fennel fond on a breezy palate with punchy, fresh orange juice acidity. A cracking-value lunch wine – and the low alcohol means you don’t have to stop at one glass”

string(495) "The famed white variety of Condrieu in the Northern Rhône and in particular the ultra-rare wines of Château Grillet. A famously temperamental grape variety which, when it hits its stride, is one of the most spectacular around. Apricot and peach notes combine with wax and honey, the mouthfeel rich and generous with notes of candied mandarin. Excellent with or without oak maturation, Viognier is best opened relatively early in its life whilst the zing it holds in its youth is still vibrant."
